The Assignment

1: What needed to change?

The workplace is changing at pace. Employers value critical thinking, problem solving, resilience and digital literacy. A whole school approach was needed to help ensure every pupil is prepared for the future.

2: The Objectives

To help the school establish a new approach that would move away from silo-based learning towards a more integrated skills-led approach that employers would recognise.

3: Our Assignment

We supported the leadership team to design a whole-school life skills framework that would integrate academic, co-curricular and pastoral learning.

4: Our Approach

We supported the Head and Project Lead to develop an approach that was:

  • based on evidence but with a practical implementation approach
  • Co-designed with wider school staff so the solution would have the necessary support.

5: Outcomes

Through our engagement with this client we ensured that:

  • The Life Skills Framework has been successfully piloted within the school
  • It has been communicated more widely to parents and pupils across the school

6: Ongoing Benefits

Our commitment to creating long-term sustainable change is evident in this case:

  • We focus on how to create the staff capability to implement change
  • We help create clear measures of success for the school to track progression
