Organisational Effectiveness
Creating organisational effectiveness through matrix working and clear accountabilities
Organisation Design case study
1: What needed to change?
With time and resources precious, efficient structures, processes and information
flows are critical. This reduces duplication,
speeds up decision-making and ensures everyone
understands their role.
2: The Objectives
The initial brief was to look at the remit of one of the retiring Deputy Head roles. However the Head reocgnised the need to look at what else needed to be addressed in the way the team operated.
3: Our Assignment
We supported a comprehensive review of the structure to:
- Build cross-team matrix working
- Enable delivery of the transformation priorities
4: Our Approach
We undertook a series of 1 to 1 interviews and brought our own insight from the sector to co-create a draft approach. This was tested in a leadership workshop to validate and challenge the design.
5: Outcomes
The project not only supported the initial brief with a clear (refreshed) brief for the Deputy Head but also put in place a series of wider changes to unlock transformation priorities.
6: Ongoing Benefits
Through our interactive workshop approach we also develop leadership and team effectiveness for all individuals to learn and take back into their roles.
